PROGRAMMES

Dr Chrissa Tzagaroulaki holds a PhD in Modern History from the Department of Political Science and History of the Panteion University. She completed her diploma thesis on “The role of the Ionian Islands’ Members of Parliament to the Greek political life, from 1864 to 1881. From ‘vanguard’ to total assimilation” in 2011 (grade: Excellent), under the supervision of Associate Professor Lina Louvi (Department of Political Science and History, Panteion University). She is a graduate of the History and Archaeology Department of the University of Crete.

She is scientific staff member of the Research Centre of Modern Histoty (KENI) of the Department of Political Science and History at Panteion University, where she primarily works with the Unit for the Study of Historical Culture, under the Unit Director, Professor Christina Koulouri. Since 1990, she has been teaching modern history, modern Greek language and literature in the area of tutorial education. 

Her main research interests focus on the 19th century, the history of political ideas with emphasis on ideology and electoral behaviour, on the study of the relationship between memory and history, and on the role of history in constructing national identity.
